MOD sign corporate licence agreement for AWARD®

MOD signs corporate license agreement for QinetiQ Commerce Decisons’ AWARD® Solution to support tender assessment process

QinetiQ Commerce Decisions, leading provider of software and services to support through-life procurement and delivery processes, announces that the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) has signed a corporate licence agreement for the AWARD® solution to support the delivery of their procurement process.

AWARD®, a collaborative web-based software solution designed specifically to support strategic procurement projects, has been successfully deployed across MOD for over 12 years on programmes with a wide range of contract values – supporting a wide variety of activities including construction programmes, transport and defence systems, IT outsourcing, collaborative frameworks and multi-lot projects. Use of the AWARD® solution has enabled the MOD to better manage and standardise their evaluation practices with repeatable processes; the corporate licence agreement will now ensure that these efficiencies are maximised across the organisation.

The MOD’s Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) organisation has a £14 billion annual budget to buy and support all the equipment that theUK military require in order to operate effectively. A further £6 billion is procured by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), the Commands and the Centre, with a total of c5000 contracts placed each year.

“We have been using AWARD® for some time in MOD, but placing separate contracts with QinetiQ Commerce Decisions each time. It makes obvious sense to place a corporate licence contract with QCD, and greater use of AWARD® should help to standardise our evaluation processes. We also use other similar tools and will be assessing how we can increase electronic methods across all our contracting activities” said Les Mosco, MOD Director Commercial.

AWARD® delivers consistent, repeatable processes for both project and organisational deployments. Proven to reduce time to contract, improve value for money and reduce risk, AWARD® has been used across a range of sectors including central, local and regional government, utilities, transport, healthcare, aerospace and defence.

“We are delighted to be awarded this corporate licence agreement from MOD which recognises our expertise in tender evaluation. We look forward to continuing our excellent relationship with MOD, increasing procurement efficiencies, maintaining a high standard of service and building confidence in the evaluation process,” said Wendy Wates, Managing Director, QinetiQ Commerce Decisions.
