Reporting to the Commercial & Sales Manager, managing the marketing team and working closely with the sales team, the successful candidate will be highly IT-literate, have an eye for detail and the energy to drive forward our marketing agenda. The ability to work flexibly across our business to ‘get the job done’ and adeptly managing the competing demands of the various facets of the role is key. This role is responsible for the management of a small marketing team. The role is integral in supporting the planning and delivery of a range of marketing programmes and campaigns across our UK, Australian and Canadian businesses.  This includes events and exhibitions, website, social media and collateral to promote our marketing activities globally.  Specifically, this role is required to lead the marketing team to:

  • Influence, shape and execute our marketing strategy across all markets
  • Influence and deliver high-quality, imaginative and attention-grabbing outputs aligned with the overall Commerce Decisions marketing strategy.
  • Work closely with Account Directors and Leaders across the business to ensure our corporate marketing and our market presence is market-driven, consistent and high-quality
  • Initiate and lead cross-functional campaigns
  • Work with the team to plan and execute on the annual user conference, ad hoc seminars and attendance at events, capitalising on social media opportunities as well as on-site engagement
  • Work with the team to plan and execute all digital media activities and increase lead generation
  • Work with the team to create targeted nurture campaigns, analysing results in order to focus effort and achieve increased awareness and loyalty
  • Manage budgeted marketing spend and maintain records as appropriate
  • Develop relationships both internally and externally, encouraging information and resource sharing to gain maximum effect for the business

Skills and Characteristics

Some of the specific skills and characteristics we are seeking include:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior B2B marketing role, preferably working in complex markets
  • Be educated to degree-level, or equivalent through experience.
  • Have delivered successful marketing campaigns and activities.
  • Be an excellent communicator with outstanding writing skills
  • Be adept and imaginative in delivery of: event management; digital and social media development; brand management; and copywriting / proofreading.
  • Have knowledge of web analytics, CRM and e-marketing.
  • Be available to work from our offices on Milton Park, and able to travel (by car) on occasion as required.
  • Be comfortable managing a small team
  • Have an ability to plan, organise and deliver against often-pressing deadlines – prioritisation and portfolio management will be critical.
  • Technology literate with good MSOffice skills and experience using, Pardot, Lead Forensics and Google Analytics
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, team player

This is a broad and varied role, requiring flexibility and tenacity – and the ability to work to time and volume pressures. The focus is primarily on the Marketing elements of the role, which are vital to the company’s growth, but the ideal candidate will be flexible and willing to ‘pitch in’ where required.
